Although, we live in a time of unprecedented economic, social, climate, and epidemic crises, one of the widely discussed topics in our century is – perversely – human immortality.

Immortality is a subject of interest of various experts – from philosophers and theologians to scientists, engineers, data science specialists, lawyers, policymakers, digital grief consultants to artists, and designers.

What are the roots of those cultural and technological pursuits? What exactly the human immortality is supposed to mean in the 21st century? And do we fight the good fight?

Exercises in the (im)mortality is a blog in which I will be trying to gradually unpack the concept of immortality in contemporary Western culture, showing how digital media and various technologies change our attitude towards death, dying, memory and grief.
